Gate Security

Can all members please ensure that when leaving the flying field that the gate and gate post are secured. It’s bad enough with the rabbits invading our site let alone a bunch of travellers :-)

Coming soon !!  dedicated part of the website for electric flight. Watch this space.

Please remember to display your membership card on your flight box!

If you do not have a current card you MUST NOT FLY as you are no longer a member and are uninsured.

Membership, If you know anybody who may be interested, then please bring them along to the next meeting, please bear in mind we are mainly a fixed wing club and do not have adequate facilities for the helicopter pilot.

Car Parking  Please DO NOT  park your vehicle outside of the gate, this causes problems for the farmer to access his field, it also creates a "Blind spot" for other members who are leaving the car park. Everyone should have a gate key by now, If not, please ask another member to let you in.

Please note there is an increase of BMFA subs for seniors only.

Subs For 2010: For BMFA, Senior £29 Junior £15 BRFC subs, Seniors £50 Over 65 £35

Students and Juniors £25. New members joining fee: £35

SAFETY ISSUES!!!

Permits to fly AND membership cards MUST be displayed on your flight box, If you do not have a permit to fly then you must not fly unless an approved person is standing with you.

If your membership lapses for more than 12 months, your permit to fly is no longer valid and a new permit to fly will have to be taken before you can fly solo. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE PLEASE ASK A COMMITTEE MEMBER

Restraints Must be used at all times.

Remember the NO FLY ZONES

PLEASE ENSURE YOU FOLLOW THE ABOVE OR YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO FLY!

SAFETY TO OUR MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC IS PARAMOUNT

It has come to the committee's attention that some members have two numbers on their frequency tags, one on each side, This is NOT ACCEPTABLE, if you are using more than one frequency, then one tag per frequency must be used, Please see a committee member if you require more blank tags. It has also been reported that on occasions, some members have switched on their transmitter before putting their tag on the board or checking the frequency is free, This can cause a very serious accident and must stop immediately !! If you are unsure of the procedure please see a committee member or an experienced member.

We now have a Facebook group

At the May Club meeting a request was made for everyone to come up with a couple of safety tips we could incorporate into a simple guide. This will form the basis of the new combined Permit To Fly. So far we have had only a response from one member, although it was very useful, thanks to Ed Wild. So I ask if you could just spare a couple of minutes to think about near miss/accidents you have experienced or witnessed, and how they might have been avoided. Also please send us any other tips on safe operation of I.C., electric or gas turbine aircraft. If it seems obvious, send it anyway, it might not be so simple to a beginner.
